Teigan is recognised as one of Queensland’s Family Law Rising Stars by the independent Doyles Guide legal rankings for 2020.
As a graduate, Teigan worked as the Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Michelle May in the Appeals Division of the Family Law Court of Australia.
It was here that her love of Family Law was nurtured.
Following admission to the legal profession in 2011, Teigan has practiced exclusively within Family Law, building a highly focused expertise.
Teigan has worked with Reagan for more than seven years. She said she was delighted to make the move to Wilsons, The Family Lawyers, to continue working with Reagan following the establishment of the boutique Family Law Practice.
Using her strong knowledge of the legal system and processes pertaining to Family Law, Teigan is comfortable working within the jurisdiction however works to keep families out of the system whenever practical – Teigan prefers to focus on negotiation, mediation and pragmatic, workable solutions for clients willing and able to avoid the delays and cost of litigation.
Teigan has a blended family with four children (three are four or younger) together with a FIFO husband. She is intrinsically aware of the demands of busy family life, the reality of having children (including a child to a different Mum), and the need for practical arrangements where children are the focus.
Teigan’s experience navigating around legal practices, children’s milestones, social needs and development, and the competing needs of separated families provides clients with the certainty needed to move on with their lives.
Teigan has recently completed her Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) in 2018. She is a graduate fellow of the College of Law Ltd, and a member of the Family Law Practitioner Association, Family Law Section of the Law Council Australia and the Women’s Legal Association of Queensland Inc.
